Appt update
We had our follow up appt on Monday. To say the least I am frustrated. I feel like nothing is going right and I am just miserable. My high blood sugars are making me throw up which when added to an already nauseated belly is really hard to deal with. They did tell me weight is the least of my concerns right now and my main concern is stabalizing my blood sugar. So I am going to meet with a dietician and I have been googling gestational diabetes diets. On a brighter note, my gall bladder was A OK!

Blood Sugar Update
I've tested my blood sugar all week and called Pam with the results on Friday like she asked. Based on
my readings she scheduled me for an emergency visit this Monday. She tried to make it for yesterday, but as most of you know, it was Christmas with our families at our house. We had my mom's side of the family and Keith's family here for Christmas dinner and gift exchange, I was not parting with my favorite time of year! In an event, what they are asking for is my fasting blood sugar to be between 70-90 and after meals under 120. My fasting blood sugars range from 85-95 and after meals range from 125-155. Yeah, high! So I have a feeling we may be getting insulin, which I am not happy about. Also, while eating dessert with our families last night, my mother and I were talking......EVERY female on my mom's side of the family has had their gall bladder out with the main symptom being vomiting.....who knew? I am now thinking it is a possibility something is wrong with my gall bladder. Since me and vomiting have a very strong relationship! We go Monday at 8:00 AM for an ultrasound to check it out. I'll update further on Monday.

29 Week Appt
To set the scene of the fabulous Monday I had I must go back to Sunday. Sunday, after all of our running around and finishing up some Christmas shopping I had an urge to eat at El Rodeo. Keith being the meat and potatoe type of guy that he is sort of objected but thought she's pregnant, I'll give it world. Well, my meal came went down with success, Keith's meal was "okay" and we proceeded home. Mind you this was 4:30 PM Sunday. So we settle down that evening to head to bed and I say I'm not feeling well, I take a Zofran and off to bed we go. I woke at 1:15 AM vomiting so violently all of Sunday's dinner. I finally get myself situated and head back to bed only to be extremely crampy in my stomach. We wake at 5:40 for Keith to head to work and myself to my 8:00 AM fasting 3 hour glucose test, only to discuss with each other neither of us feels well. Needless to say, we are pretty confident something wasn't done right at El Rodeo, as we both had a yucky stomach thing going on and visited the bathroom all throughout Monday.
As for me, I left Keith's work proceed to my appt and I go in get my blood sugar tested only to discover my fasting blood sugar was extremely high and they almost tried to cancel the test. I urge them to proceed as I am already there and do not feel like driving back home, they call my Dr and move forward with the fasting blood draw. Now the order of events was to be blood sugar check, fasting blood draw, drink glucose, wait an hour from drinking glucose draw blood, wait 2 hours draw blood, and finally wait 3 hours draw blood. Backing up, I had the fasting blood drawn. I drank the glucose drink and I proceed to the waiting area. 45 minutes into my test I begin to vomit. Due to my vomiting, my test at that point was canceled due to them not knowing how much glucose drank came up and how much stayed down they said sorry it's over. I then left, went to Keith's parents, continued to puke my guts out, slept for 2 1/2 hours and then headed back for my appt.
We check in at my appt with our usual weight check first, I'm down a pound. We go in, I use the restroom, I come in the exam room only to find the nurse waiting on me to discuss my fasting blood sugar level. She indicates it was far too high and I must now test my blood sugar 4 times daily call her on Friday with results, and go from there. She leaves, Dr. Jurus comes in and discusses the same thing with me on why and how we got to this point and what he thinks should happen, what could happen, and what we will do if said happens. He measured my uterus and listened to baby's heartbeat and brought in Dr. Curtain. Dr. Curtain discusses the same blood sugar issues and also my lack of weight gain issues and thinks I should meet with a nutrionist and also wants me to have my liver and gall bladder checked as some of these issues should be resolved by now and they are and he wants to further investigate. I personally think my liver and gall bladder are just fine, but I will have the test to suit him. They indicated I will return in 1 week to discuss blood sugar results, weight check, and we will discuss when we check on baby to make sure he/she is not growing too large. So all in all, today was horrible, it feels like nothing is going right, I feel miserable, and now on top of a weekly injection I must prick myself 4 times daily. I said to Keith on the way home, I know I'm grumpy and I think I may stay that way for a day or two until I realize which I do know already and I am thankful for, that I am pregnant, I am growing a very healthy baby, and there is a lot of women who would love to be in my shoes.
Here are my stats:
Belly: Two weeks ago measuring right at 26 1/2 weeks, this week I am 28 1/2 weeks, belly is measuring 29.5. So it's growing by the day!
Belly Button: Still in, but as last posted, I expect it to "pop" any day!
Strech Marks: Same few, no worries though.
Weight Gain: -1 pound totaling 9 pounds so far. :(
Boy/Girl: Still unknown!
Feeling: I don't want to go there at the moment, I think you get the jist from what's posted above.
Cravings: NONE
Sleep: Egh, somewhat okay, sometimes not. Depends on the night.
Morning Sickness: Same, maybe a tad worse this week.
Baby: Measuring a little over 16 inches and about 3 1/2 pounds. Getting bigger everyday!
As I said before, we return in 1 week for a gall bladder ultrasound, dr appt, and blood work. I will post more as we know it!

Failed Glucose Screening
I took this dreaded, awful test on Friday and to no avail I failed! My vomiting may just punish me for the remainder of this pregnancy after that! Normal ranges are anything under 130 and mine was 146! So it was only 16 points elevated but enough to warrant having the 3 hour glucose test done. I did ask if it was something I was doing and she told me no. You are either destined to have it or you are not. Also, failing the screening does not mean you will fail the test. I am hopeful that I pass. 16 points elevated, I feel confident! Needless to say, this horror is going down on Monday! Boo, to that, but we must keep baby and momma healthy! Ps, 85 days left..........but who's counting right?!

27 weeks
We had our 27 week appointment yesterday and boy was it an exciting one! We began with an ultrasound in which during I asked our technician how people get the 4d ultrasounds and she said well we will do one! Totally cool and with Keith and I never experiencing this before in previous pregnancies, it was quite awesome to watch the baby moving around. He/she loves their face covered and is very, very active. We also asked since it's 4d can you tell if it has hair, she said yes. Well as you can see there is none showing on the photos and when we moved on to the transvaginal ultrasound, because the baby is head down, there was none shown there either. Looks like we may have a baldy or at least a very light haired baby. This would be Keith's genes in and out as he was a very large, long, bald baby! After our ultrasound, Dr. Curtain came in and said our baby is very large, very large weighing in at almost 3 pounds already and we have increased amniotic fluid surrounding the baby, which is typically a sign of gestational diabetes so we now have to hightail it to the lab to get the glucose test done. During our appointment, Dr. Ambrose again repeatedly, kept mentioning gestational diabetes and the fact that our little one is not so little. All in all though, everything is looking great and we return in two weeks. Below are the stats.....
Belly: Large, but this is almost all baby with some fluid surrounding! I keep getting comments on how large I am. Well that's because a baby doesn't typically weigh almost 3 pounds well until 33-34 weeks~!
Belly Button: Almost out, I'm expecting it to "pop" any day now!
Stretch Marks: Unfortunately, Yes. I'm not one of those vain mothers that refuses to acknowledge what childbirth and pregnancy does to a woman's body, so I'm not too upset.
Weight Gain: +5 pounds totaling 10 pounds. Yes, 5 pound increase in 3 weeks.
Boy/Girl: Owen or Avery, we have no idea! Either way he/she will be perfect!
Feeling: A lot of energy, but with a cost.....I feel winded, full, backache, and my pubic bone is taking a beating.
Cravings: Nothing too crazy, still nothing that has really thrown me for a loop.
Sleep: This department is really starting to suffer! I'm so comfortable on the couch but must sleep in bed next to Keith. He did offer to sleep on the living room floor next to me, but I won't do that to him.
Morning Sickness: Still there and going. I've come to the conclusion we will have a relationship until the baby comes.
Baby: Should be almost 2 pounds and 14 inches long. Ours is almost 3 pounds and is 16 inches long. Growing, growing, growing and I decided I'm not even wasting my time washing my preemie clothes. They will all be returned to my sister as in 2 more pounds of growth, we certainly won't be needing them!
We return to the drs in 2 weeks. We should have more updates then on our glucose screening. I'm pretty sure they will be sending me for the 3 hour test though :( that makes me unhappy, but we must keep baby safe and happy!

4d Ultrasound
Enjoy these photos and video. Baby wasn't exactly cooperating as it's face down. The pictures with it's arm over it's face and it's tiny feet in his/her face is too precious!
