 Big brother Brock and Owen

8 weeks, our boy is 8 weeks old. Owen has been such a happy boy this past week. Thank you Zantac! Owen has been going to bed every night between 10-11 and sleeping until 2-4 then sleeping again until 5-6 and usually goes back to sleep again until 9-10 am. He did sleep through the night Tuesday, 10:40-7:15, so he isn't doing too bad, a lot better than up all night or every hour! He is still breastfed, he does receive bottles occasionally either pumped milk or occasionally formula. I hate formula though and I can't see why anyone uses it. It's expensive, it stinks, and Owen spits it up. Plus the hassle of bottles. Okay rant over! We had a bittersweet week, Owen got to meet a lot of family members on my side (Colby) but unfortunately it was due to the loss of my Great Aunt Bert. We will miss her dearly, she was 73 years young. Due to the loss of Aunt Bert, Owen got to meet his Great Uncle Johnny and Great Great Aunt Sis along with all of her children and children's children. We were in McAlisterville both Saturday and Sunday for a number of hours and I just didn't feel comfortable leaving Owen for that long of time. Since Owen is feeling better, he does like the swing, and the car, and the floor, and his crib, and basically all of those things we didn't think he liked! He does NOT like to be disturbed however, so if he is sleeping peacefully somewhere we usually don't move him. He also continues to sleep with my tablet as he enjoys sleepy baby an app that makes awesome white noise, animal sounds, and lullabies. Owen loves noise, so if we must get something done, we will put him in the bathroom in his vibration chair to listen to the fan. Instant silence! He still continues to love water, both his tub, our bathtub or shower.

Owen got a bumbo chair!

We decided to break out the bumbo....
 It's definitely a hit!

Boys will be boys

Happy 7 Weeks Owen!

Owen with his legs out on the lovely 80 degree day we had!
Sitting up on the couch looking at mom!

Week 6 into 7 was bittersweet for us. We took Owen to the drs for his fussiness and Dr. Baker diagnosed him with reflux. He said that he has classic reflux symptoms including, constant eating, favors his belly, and wanting to be held constantly. He prescribed him Zantac and wants us to report back May 3rd at his 2 month checkup.  I am happy to report this medicine has completely changed our little boy. You don't even know he's around anymore. I'm sad we didn't discover it sooner, but also happy that Owen isn't just a grump for no reason! He has been eating now since being on the medicine every 3-4 hours instead of every 20 min! He is also sleeping a bit better~! We didn't do a whole this week or have any visitors. Owen was only cuddled by the lovely baseball ladies!

Happy 6 Weeks Owen!

Not enjoying his new toy from the bunny :(
Winston trying to get the same loving Owen is getting!
 Enjoying a bottle with dad!
 He was watching Keith

Here we are week 6. The boy is growing and getting older fast! Time is flying. This week was an exciting week. First on Easter Sunday Owen rolled from his belly to his back and has been doing so all week. I often put him on his belly and come back to a baby on his back! I'm not sure why he does this because he prefers his belly much more than his back. Second on Saturday Owen began smiling! Yes, real smiles. You typically must be acting pretty silly to get one of these smiles but they are real baby smiles!
Now for the not so great,  Owen is still Mr. Fussy Pants. Not sure why!!!!!! We have began waking him around 6-7 and keeping him awake and he typically sleeps good through the night waking around 2-3 and again at 5-6. Usually 2-3 times a week he doesn't do this! Hey he's still learning! Owen's visitors this week were our usually crowd over at pap and mamals and the wonderful ladies from the PTO. Not much happening, Big Brother Brock's baseball schedule is heavily upon us. No complaints here, it's good to get out, Owen enjoys being out, and the mommie's adore him!

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny was here!
An Egg Hunt at Pappy Dave's and Mamal Becki's
The only picture I have of Owen on Easter.

I know I'm tad late on posting, Owen's been a handful and Brock's baseball has been keeping us busy! Unfortunately, before I took a photo of the boy's on Easter, Owen pooped everywhere and his little outfit was covered. It was a mess. So instead of remembering Easter as not getting his first photo we will just remember it this way! We celebrated Easter by going to Pappy and Mamal's. Owen was good boy and him and Brock enjoyed everything the bunny brought them.

Happy 5 Weeks Owen!

Owen wide awake this past week
 Wide eyed
 Love this picture
Owen fell asleep in the bouncer!
Since we've been having some trouble getting him to sleep we just left him sleep!
Time to start strapping him in.
Hanging out after a diaper change.
 Owen looking at Keith.
Owen was 5 weeks yesterday, it is just flying by. He has outgrown all of his newborn clothes and is wearing 0-3 months now. He is still in size 1 diapers, I hope for awhile because we are still pretty stocked on those. Owen is eating about every 2 1/2-4 hours, it depends how long he was awake prior to falling asleep, if he's been awake for a long time he will sleep for awhile stretching out his feeding. Owen completely enjoys looking at faces and really is on the verge of being able to purposely smile. He also continues to enjoy nursing and being held. Owen has still been rather fussy, but the last few nights we have nursed, swaddled, rocked, placed in crib, meanwhile the app on my tablet is blaring a white noise. Sounds crazy, but this boy has been sleeping! We'll continue to do that and see where it goes! Owen made a big trip last Saturday down to Aunt Jordie's. We went for a visit while Keith took my brother to a concert. Owen enjoyed doing some shopping with Aunt Jordi, Cambria, and myself. Owen's other visitors this week were Pappy Dave, Mamal Becki, Uncle Jake, Aunt Marsha, Diane, Keith's cousin Penny, Derrick, Grandma Shawn, Jeff, Aunt Sydney, Grandma Chrissy, Aunt Maddie, Uncle Brandon, my friend Lauren, and her dear son Cameron. Owen is gearing up to celebrate his FIRST EASTER! Although he can't really do anything I am super excited! Owen went and seen the Easter Bunny on Wednesday at Bass Pro Shop. I'll post the picture later! All I will tell you is he screamed!
