Brock has been a major help this week by holding Owen while I get things done!
Brotherly bonding!
I know it's not until Monday but we had a 1 month photo shoot!
A big yawn!
I choose a white onesie, so each month we can check out Owen's changes!
A sleepy baby!
You would think at 4 weeks we would have Mr. Owen figured out! Truth is WE DON'T, NOT EVEN CLOSE! We have discovered this week due to having some company and me not nursing in public, we gave Owen a frozen breastmilk bottle, it was 3 1/2 ounces. He drank all of it and typically he was only taking 2 ounces. So we thought to ourselves possibly his grumpiness is due to not being fed enough. I put a call in to Dr. Baker and he said go ahead and supplement with formula. Voila......he is now happy! He is able to be put down, he is sleeping better at night (more on this in a bit), he has a full belly. Each day, we have only given him typically 2-4 ounces total of formula. Usually about a 1/2 ounce after nursing. I do still nurse him each and every time then we will make a bottle for after. That way most of his nutrition is from breast milk. SO far this is working!!! Now as for sleeping, Owen has been doing this in his carseat in our bedroom. Unfortunately, he doesn't sleep in the crib well unless on his belly and I'm just to afraid to leave him that way overnight. So the house hold is happy as everyone is getting sleep. He typically eats around 11-12 then is down until 3-4 then eats just a tiny bit around 6 am and goes back to sleep. So all in all not to bad. Owen's visitors this week were, a visit to Pappy's and Mamal's, a visit to District Justice Greg Johnson and his wife Cheryl, Uncle Brandon and Aunt Maddie came over, a trip to tball practice, and Keith's cousin Cindy. It's so hard to believe Baby Owen is 4 weeks old today and 1 month old on Monday. The time is truly going way too fast. Owen has outgrown 3 of his newborn outfits :( 0-3 are still big but not for long. Owen still seems to like, his bath, the car (as long as it's moving), his vibrating bouncer, (NO SWING), and being outside. He loves to nurse and be held by Keith and I. He is really starting to really focus and stare at whoever is holding and occasionally I have caught him looking around in his bouncer. He has also made a few cooing sounds. He is such a pleasure, I just wish we could completely get him figured out so he stays happy! Enjoy his photos!!
